Zines are self-published mini magazines that are about any subject you can imagine. From Thomas Payne’s Common Sense in 1776 to Riot Grrrl in the 1990s, self-published pamphlets, or zines, have been a vital tool for marginalized voices to express ideas that would not be accepted in mainstream publications. In this workshop, we will be exploring the history of zines and how they can be used as a visual complement to written poetry. We will be taking famous poems or personal works and creating our own mini zines to be added to our Zine Library.
Registration is required.
